My website is made up of recordings of some of the instrumental songs I wrote for my capstone project. The goal of my project was originally to write and record an EP inspired by people like Gram Parsons and the Rolling Stones. However, I was unable to get a vocalist to sing for me, so after Winter break, I shifted my focus to writing instrumental pieces. I first started to write songs at the end of Summer break, and my focus in this class has mostly been on improving my songwriting. I wrote dozens of songs in many different styles this year, and the ones I am presenting today are what I have been working on most recently. I recorded and edited my songs in garageband, using guitars, bass, and electronic drums and keyboards.

Pop Rock Slide Guitar Song |
Spaghetti Western Song |
This song is mostly inspired by George Harrison and Badfinger. For this song I tried to learn to play and record slide guitar like George Harrison and use more interesting chord progressions. I chose to use slide guitar to make this song more interesting than just regular guitar melodies.
Harrison SlideAfter recording the Pop Rock Slide Guitar Song, I decided to continue trying to learn slide guitar. This song was also inspired by George Harrisons songs in and outside of the Beatles.

This song is a spaghetti western style theme song. This song was influenced by the theme songs of movies like the good the bad and the ugly and a fistfull of dollars. This song focuses on a twangy guitar and uses a lot of reverb and tremolo.
Funk RockThis song is a funk rock song. It was originally inspired by the Brothers Johnson and the Isley Brothers, but I thought the effects made it sound similar to Pink Floyd, so I leaned into that when writing the middle section.
